To be eligible for a commissioning in the United States Air Force and to become a
member of ROTC, you must meet these minimum requirements:
- Be a U.S. citizen (to receive a scholarship or enter the last 2 years of the program)
- Must be enrolled full-time (12 credit hours) at an accredited college that hosts or
has a cross-town agreement with an AFROTC detachment
- You must participate in both the Aerospace Studies class and Leadership Lab each semester
- Be at least 14 years old (17 for scholarship)
- Commissioning age limits:
- Pilot/Navigator – before age 29
- Scholarship – not reach age 31 by 31 December of the commissioning year
- Non-scholarship – before age 35
- Be of good moral character
- Have 3 academic years remaining to complete your undergraduate degree at the beginning
of your first fall term in the program
To continue in the program you must:
- Pass Physical Fitness Requirements
- Maintain Height/Weight Standards
- Pass the Air Force Officer Qualifying Test
- Pass a Physical Examination
- Successfully complete a four-week Field Training course
- Maintain a term and cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 out of 4.0
- Receive nothing lower than a C- in any Aerospace Studies Course and pass all Leadership
Labs
- Receive an allocation slot in the Professional Officer Course
We are the ROTC Detachment for the entire San Joaquin Valley!
To be eligible for an Air Force commission upon graduation, you must attend Fresno
State for your final two years prior to graduation.
However, you can attend any college in the valley for up to the first two years of
our program, but must transfer to Fresno State (host institution) for your last two
years of your degree.

for anyone interested in learning more.
The next semester/registration will begin in Spring 2024. Specific dates for orientation
