Cynthia Uetz-Nakagawa

Cindy brings an impressive 38 years of public service experience with Kern County Department of Human Services, where she most recently served as Chief Deputy Director. In this role, she provided leadership and oversight across multiple divisions, including Child Protective Services, Employment and Financial Services, grant operations, Medi-Cal renewals, and services for older adults.

Cindy also served as Regional Manager for the CalSAWS Consortium, where she co-facilitated the State Project Steering Committee. She has been an active member of CWDA and is a recipient of the Executive Leadership Award. As Assistant Director of Kern County DHS, she managed over 300 positions, demonstrating her extensive leadership capacity and commitment to public service. Cindy holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management from the University of La Verne, Pomona.
