Housed within the College of Health and Human Services, the CDTIH encompass faculty fellows from five different colleges on campus, including the:

Vision
To be a national leader in digital and AI-driven healthcare innovation, transforming healthcare in California’s Central Valley and beyond through accessible, high-impact solutions that improve outcomes and expand access.
Mission
To advance health outcomes through technology-driven research, education, and innovation in digital health, virtual care, and AI-enabled interventions. CDTIH brings together interdisciplinary expertise and collaborative partnerships to design, evaluate, and deploy accessible, evidence-based solutions that address regional healthcare needs while contributing to national and global innovation.
Goals (AY 2025–2026)

- Foster Interdisciplinary Research and Innovation: Build a collaborative ecosystem across health sciences, engineering, business, and education
- Expand External Funding Opportunities: Identify and pursue NIH, NSF, and foundation funding for pilot and large-scale initiatives
- Enhance Faculty and Student Engagement: Develop cross-college programs, mentorship, and experiential learning opportunities
- Strengthen Community and K–12 Outreach: Promote digital health literacy, STEM pathways, and workforce development
- Launch Pilot Projects: Initiate 2–3 projects in areas such as remote patient monitoring, predictive analytics, and virtual care
- Develop a Sustainability Strategy: Establish a 3-year roadmap for funding diversification and industry partnerships
