Dr. Bal firmly believes that integrity, civility, equity, respect, and ethical behavior are vital to academic excellence. His academic training and experience working as a doctorally prepared nurse practitioner with a post-doctorate in psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner have equipped him to be an effective clinician and professor.

Dr. Bal teaches in the undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate nursing programs. He also serves as Chair of the Students Affairs Committee. In addition to being the lead faculty for mental health and the program coordinator for PMHNP, he is currently practicing in a Post-Acute Rehab Facility and Psychiatric inpatient facility. He aspires to bring clinical experience into the classroom setting.

Additionally, he is also a founding President of the California Indian Nurses Association (CINA). He believes in welcoming, embracing, and expanding diversity in academia and values promoting all students’ personal growth and educational achievements.
