Travis W. Cronin

Dr. Cronin began his career as a paraprofessional in 2000. He worked in various social service settings (i.e., schools, disability agencies, eligibility services). After earning his BS in Sociology in 2003, Dr. Cronin worked in community adult mental health programs (i.e., Assertive Community Treatment, and Psychosocial Rehabilitation). During his MSW program he became a Title IV-E student, and after graduation in 2006, Dr. Cronin worked in public child welfare for five years. While working in child welfare Dr. Cronin completed 3,000 hours of supervised clinical social work and became a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). He worked in a military hospital as an LCSW for seven months before starting his PhD program. During his PhD program Dr. Cronin served as the MSW Program Coordinator for the Child Welfare Education Program (i.e., Title IV-E grant) at Arizona State University. Dr. Cronin was hired as an Assistant Professor at Fresno State in 2017. Since arriving in Fresno he transferred his LCSW credential to California, and he provided clinical social work services with a private practice for three years. Dr. Cronin began served as the Undergraduate Coordinator for Fresno State's Department of Social Work Education (DSWE) BA program in social work in from 2018-19 through 2022-23 academic years. Dr. Cronin was appointed as the Field Coordinator for the DSWE druring the summer of 2023, and currently serves in this capacity.
