Dr. Jennifer Adame-Walker studied Physiology at UC Santa Barbara and received a Bachelor of Science with a Minor in Human Movement in 1995. She earned her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy from California State University Fresno in 1999. Later, she returned to school and completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy Degree from University of California San Francisco in 2011. She added additional qualifications of Orthopedic Certified Specialist in 2013. She worked primarily as an outpatient orthopedic PT in a variety of settings including hospital based, private practice and government settings. She has published research on Pilates and mental wellness and continues to study mental wellness in DPT students, focusing primarily on underserved or first generation populations.

Dr. Adame-Walker started as a part-time lecturer in the Department of Physical Therapy in 2012 and moved to a full-time position in the Fall of 2016. She has taught Exercise Physiology, Foundations, Professional Colloquium, Orthopedics and oversees research and evidence based projects. She was the past director of the Musculoskeletal Care Clinic on campus. Her research interests include student success and services in PT education, concussion testing and management, wellness and exercise science. 

Dr. Adame-Walker is married with 3 children. They are an active household participating in percussion, volleyball, and soccer.
