Dr. Roos is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy, California
State University, Fresno. She is currently a PhD candidate at Texas Woman's University,
Dallas, holds a transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from a joint program
between the University of California San Francisco, California State University San
Francisco, and California State University Fresno. She also holds a Master's degree
in Physical Therapy and a Bachelors in Science degree in Exercise Physiology from
California State University, Fresno. She is a board-certified clinical specialist
in Geriatric Physical Therapy (GCS) and is certified in aquatic physical therapy clinical
competency (CAPTCC).
Dr. Roos joined the Fresno State Department of Physical Therapy as part-time faculty
advisor in 2012. In 2015, she transitioned from the clinic to the classroom teaching
full time in the DPT program and was the Graduate Program Coordinator until 2022.
She added the role of Director of Clinical Education in 2022 and teaches across the
curriculum in various courses. Dr. Roos has clinical experience across the continuum
of care but has spent the majority of her time as a clinician in the rehabilitation
setting. Her teaching emphasis is in body systems, women’s health, aquatics, service-learning,
and community engagement.
Dr. Roos is actively engaged in service with the San Joaquin Valley District of the
California Physical Therapy Association serving for over ten years and is currently
the chair of the nominating committee. Dr. Roos collaborates with faculty and community
partners on research projects and community service activities. Community-based projects
include collaboarting with faculty and students during mobile health unit health screenings
and fall risk and balance screening events for older adults. She has presented works
at the national, state, and local level. Currently she is participating in multiple
research projects examining self-selected gait velocity during inpatient rehabilitation
facility length of stay. In addition, reliability of digital fitness tracker in adults
with chronic conditions, incontinence and women's health, and lower-limb amputation.
