The mission of the Central California Training Academy (CCTA) is to enhance the ability of staff in public social services and child welfare agencies to protect children and to prevent placement whenever possible. Through the Academy, child welfare workers will have greater access to current and state-of-the-art child welfare practices, thereby leading to more competent workers in the field.

James, the Chairman of the Yurok Tribe....In the last month, the Yurok Tribal Court received reports from seven Yurok women, including mothers with young children, who were approached by would-be traffickers.

A 2021 VIRTUAL CONFERENCE Strengthening Context, Culture and Connections

This E-Learning is structured to provide you with an introduction to what the Core
Practice Model is and why California is adopting the CPM. It will take a deeper dive
into the values, principles and practice behaviors of the Core Practice Model and
explore how those particular components of the CPM relate to your professional role
in child welfare service.

The purpose of this E-Learning is to provide County staff, Adoption and Foster Family Agency staff, Probation staff, Community Partners, and Families with an overview of the Resource Family Approval (RFA) Program.


- Understand the historical framework and policy issues related to FASD.
- Understand the criteria of the diagnosis that are associated with FASD and their frequency.

Identify Primary and Secondary disabilities associated with FASD, their cause, and prevention.

This eLearning course is designed to provide an overview and increase awareness of
issues related to human trafficking for child welfare staff. You'll learn about the
different types of human trafficking with a focus on the prevalence rates of commercial
sexual exploitation of children and domestic minor sex trafficking.

In this webinar, Sarah Roush will go over some of the major health disparities that
we see with this population. She covers current terminology related to LGBTQ individuals
and patients. Finally, she discusses the recommended sexual and reproductive health
screening and counseling services for LGBTQ patients.

Denise Goodman, Ph.D is hosting a series of webinars. The first webinar in this series,
“From Plan to Action: Implementing and Tracking Our Recruitment Efforts Webinar” is now available. This webinar will explore the common roadblocks to successful
implementation of a recruitment plan and how to identify your obstacles.
