Central California Training Academy

Training & Support

Central California Training Academy (CCTA) fulfills its mission by delivering high-quality training and support services that prepare and empower child welfare professionals across Central California. CCTA’s training offerings are designed to build the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary for staff to meet the complex demands of child welfare practice. Through interactive, practice-informed learning experiences, participants are supported in their efforts to strengthen families and promote child safety and well-being within the context of their homes, cultures, and communities.

California Department of Social Services (CDSS)

CDSS funds Regional Training Academies who provide Child Welfare, Foster Youth, and Adult Protective Service training to counties in California. CDSS provides information and suggests training direction to the Academies as well as funding for special training initiatives.

CDSS strives to carry out its mission of providing aid, services, and protection to needy children and adults. At the same time, the Department strives to strengthen and encourage individual responsibility and independence for families. By managing and funding its programs, the objectives of the Department are carried out through the 4,200 employees located in 51 offices throughout the state, the 58 county welfare departments, offices, and a host of community-based organizations.
