Fresno CRMC and Clovis CMC Data Map

Central Valley Health Policy Institute conducted an ArcGIS polygon map of Fresno County Community Health Hospital Systems. A shapefile was conducted by La Cresta Demographics, an ArcGIS specialist. To create the polygon boundary map, Fresno County zip codes were utilized. In the ArcGIS polygon boundary map, the dataset was extracted from the Department of Health Care Access and Information, Patient Discharge Data, 2020-2021 Patient Origin/Market Share (Pivot Profile)–Inpatient and Emergency Department Visits and analyzed by an independent researcher. The data points represent the primary hospital area within the Fresno County region. As a base comparison, California was used to compare the mean values of Fresno County. The data also helped reveal how Fresno County continues to serve uninsured, and Medi-Cal recipients. As part of a policy update, the geographic map and indicators tables will help give individuals the opportunity to better understand the primary health care coverage and demographics served in Fresno County.
