Racial Equity Analysis of VI-SPDAT Data
The VI-SPDAT assessment has been found to create racial inequities within housing prioritization assignments for unhoused communities. The Housing Equity project aimed to create a new equitable assessment that addresses earlier disparities, in part through conducting a racial equity analysis to examine racial trends present in housing prioritization assignments and BIPOC question response likelihood. Using Singles Participant data, the analysis revealed VI-SPDAT question phrasing may contribute to BIPOC’s deprioritization and equitable amendments are needed. Covid-19 Equity Project
The COVID-19 Equity Project is a collaborative effort between the Immigrant Refugee Coalition, the African American Coalition, and the Disabilities Equity Project in Fresno County. The goal of this collaboration is to offer COVID-19 resources and support to all communities across Fresno County.
CVHPI staff are dedicated to providing the most up-to-date information about COVID-19 science, vaccinations, and testing sites all across Fresno County.

As many resources and services moved online for shelter-in-place policies at the beginning of the pandemic, a need to bridge technological and informational gaps within underserved communities emerged. In partnership with the Central Valley Community Foundation (CVCF) and the Fresno County Department of Public Health (FCDPH), the Immigrant and Refugee COVID-19 Response Team launched the Spanish Weekly Resources Call.

Central Valley Health Policy Institute will present the findings, structure, and model of the COVID-19 Equity's Project White Paper Presentation. In addition, CVHPI will present how the collaborative efforts and CBO's adaptive leadership contributed to mitigating the spread of COVID-19 in our most vulnerable communities.
