Jean D. Norman-Evans
Jean D. Norman-Evans, MSW, has worked in various professional settings in the field of social services for over 30 years. She started working for the Training Academy in 2005, as a Field Based Trainer/Supervisor Mentor for newly hired child welfare supervisors and also delivered training to foster parents through the Specialist Foster Parent Training Project. Mrs. Norman-Evans has supported and helped in the implementation of several new best practice models in child welfare; i.e. serving on the Fresno County's Family to Family Community Collaborative Committee, and Fresno County's Culture Broker Program; leading to her participation in the California Partner's for Permanency Federal Grant, (CAPP), practice model for Fresno County. As a committee member, trainer and mentor/coach, she was also very instrumental in the implementation of the Safety Organized Practice Model for Fresno County as a trainer and mentor/coach to child welfare staff, social workers, supervisors and the community at large. Mrs. Norman-Evans is currently the Lead Staff Trainer for the Training Academy. Since 2015, she has delivered the Common Core Curriculum training for social workers, and had the pleasure of serving on several piloting committees for the development and implementation of the new Common Core 3.0 Curriculum. Mrs. Norman-Evans trainings are very humorous, engaging, thought-provoking and transparent. She enjoys being a trainer/mentor to the newly hired social workers, and is also very compassionate about advocating and providing a voice for the families and communities we serve in child welfare.
