CSDS Research Clinic
The services offered by the Communicative Sciences and Deaf Studies (CSDS) Research Clinics include diagnosis, and treatment for individuals who may experience communication problems or disorders, such as post stroke aphasia, dysarthria, right hemisphere syndrome, deficits related to a brain injury, as well as dysarthria resulting from Parkinson’s Disease. Clients can self–refer and can live anywhere in the San Joaquin Valley.

Aphasia and Brain Injury Individual Research Clinic
Speech and language evaluations are followed by conferences the client/caregiver. Appropriate recommendations and/or referrals are made at that time. If therapy is indicated, the individual is eligible for treatment sessions at the clinic. Individual therapy sessions are held two times a week over a 12-week period in Fall and Spring semesters and usually are 35 minutes in length. In the summer, sessions are held four days a week for a six-week period.
Aphasia Group Research Clinic
The Aphasia Clinic is available for adults of all ages who have suffered a stroke that resulted in communication issues/Aphasia. The Aphasia Clinic meets in a group setting and is facilitated by graduate clinicians as well as a professor in the Department.
