Aphasia and Brain Injury Individual Research Clinic
Speech and language evaluations are followed by conferences the client/caregiver. Appropriate recommendations and/or referrals are made at that time. If therapy is indicated, the individual is eligible for treatment sessions at the clinic. Individual therapy sessions are held two times a week over a 12-week period in Fall and Spring semesters and usually are 35 minutes in length. In the summer, sessions are held four days a week for a six-week period.
Aphasia Group Research Clinic
The Aphasia Clinic is available for adults of all ages who have suffered a stroke that resulted in communication issues/Aphasia. The Aphasia Clinic meets in a group setting and is facilitated by graduate clinicians as well as a professor in the Department. It is a wonderful way to offer therapy in a natural group environment as well as an opportunity for clients with Aphasia to socialize and offer support to one another.
