Kristin Carraway, MPH
EMBRACE Project Manager
Kristin Carraway serves as project manager for the EMBRACE Prenatal Care Study. Prior to joining EMBRACE, Kristin served as a community mental health specialist for the Fresno County Department of Behavioral Health Children’s Mental Health Services. She provided case management and therapeutic supportive services to emotionally disturbed children, youth, and their families by implementing individual and group interventions to increase coping skills and decrease symptoms. Kristin has also worked as a community engagement specialist for the Fresno County Preterm Birth Initiative, focusing on reducing the disproportionate rate of premature births to African American women in Fresno County. She also has served as a Black Maternal Wellness Innovation Lab Fellow, which aims to build community-based birth justice advocates. Kristin has strong ties to the community as she is a native of Fresno and graduated from California State University, Fresno, earning a BS in Biology: Anatomy and Physiology, BA in Psychology, a minor in Chemistry, and Master of Public Health: Health Promotion. Kristin is also currently pursuing a PsyD in clinical psychology.
