California Physical Therapy Association (CPTA)

The California Physical Therapy Association is a Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association. As the third largest Physical Therapy association in the world, the California Physical Therapy Association has over 9,800 members and is the largest voice for the physical therapy profession in the state of California. The local chapter of the CPTA is the San Joaquin Valley District. Many faculty members have been involved with this organization over the years and continue to be active members. Vision: Transforming society by optimizing movement to improve the human experience.

American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)

The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) is a national professional organization representing more than 66,000 physical therapists and physical therapist assistants. Membership in this organization is required of our students and highly encouraged of our alumni. The APTA aims to empower the physical therapy profession in making a deeper impact on the world around us by providing continuing education, supporting health care initiatives in the legislature and strengthening connections within the physical therapy community.
