Kathleen Mae P Galinato
"I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Fresno State with a B.S. in Health Science-Community Health Option and a Certificate in Alcohol and Drug Studies in 2013. I am a 3rd year graduate student in the Master of Public Health (MPH) program at Fresno State for Health Promotion. I am in the process of completing my thesis, which is a secondary analysis of the American College Health Association-National College Health Assessment II survey. The purpose of my study was to investigate influenza vaccination rates in Hispanic and Non-Hispanic College students. Overall, my experience with the Fresno State MPH program has been positive. I developed a close relationship with the faculty and those in my cohort. Some of my favorite classes from the program include PH202 (Statistics) and PH225A/B (Foundation in Health Promotion). My research interests lie with chronic and vaccine-preventable diseases. I hope to work within these areas upon completion of the MPH program. When not busy with school, I enjoy trying different cultural cuisines, traveling, and staying active".
