by meeting with an ACDC counselor as early as possible.

at (559) 278-5027 or visit the office in McLane Hall, Room 276
During the semester students may receive emails to schedule an appointment through
a targeted "appointment campaign." Reasons for campaigns typically include:
- Advising Holds (Freshmen, Transfer, etc.)
- Continuing Pre-Health Students
- First-Semester Transfers
- Probation/Disqualification Holds
- "Super Senior" Holds
An advising campaign is a structured initiative designed to proactively engage students
in academic advising. These campaigns are typically launched by ACDC through Bulldog
Connect to encourage students to schedule an advising appointments to stay on track
for graduation, clear a hold, or receive support for course registration, degree planning,
and career preparation.
Campaigns are generally sent out within the first few weeks of a semester and offer
students of a specific population (e.g. those with advising holds) the chance to schedule
an appointment at a time/date of their choosing, and often give priority in appointment
availability prior to registration. If you know you are reaching the benchmark for
a specific advising hold be on the lookout for campaign emails from our office.
Please note: Not all campaigns are mandatory and instead are encouraged for students hitting key
milestones in their academic career.
What is Bulldog Connect?
An advising hold at Fresno State is a restriction placed on a student's account that prevents them from registering for classes until they meet with an academic advisor or fulfill some requirement. Advising holds
are typically applied to ensure students receive proper guidance on course selection,
degree progress, and university requirements before enrolling in the next semester.
Please Note: ACDC Advisors can typically clear most holds, but some holds must be cleared by specific
offices on campus. Holds may clear (i.e. allow registration) immediately or may take
up to 24 hours to clear, so it is HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to clear holds as soon as possible to avoid delays in registering for classes.
Also note that some indicators in the Important Information/Holds section of your
student portal related to Financial Aid are typically not advising holds (i.e. prevent
registration). Please contact Financial Aid for more information on documentation.
